Molly McMahan fist touched polymer clay in the year 1988. She still has some of the first peices that she made from sculpy III. Back in those days, she didn't know anyone else who worked in polymer clay except for the friends that she introduced to the medium. In those days most of the items created were sold with her friends at Grateful Dead Shows. She had taught herself caning out of Fimo after seeing some incredible necklaces made out of animal face canes.

In the early 90's she put away the clay, got married and had a wonderful son. Her seperation from clay didn't last long and in 1996 she created 50 angels for a real estate agent in Phoenix, AZ. The agent gave angels to friends and family every year, it was her signature gift and that year she was having a horrible time finding something different. In 1997 she moved back to Kentucky and soon after got divorced.

The love affair with Polymer was back on and continued for several years, doing several craft shows in Kentucky and at one point had items in a local gallery and shops in the Highlands area. As her son grew older and involved in sports it became difficult as a single parent to maintain craftshows, inventory and soccer momage.

In 2003 she submitted an entry into Somerset Studios and was first published for wine glass charms in the fall of that year. By that point clay had taken a back again.

It was at this time Molly discovered her love of photography and scrapbooking-mainly because she needed something to do with all of those pictures! For the next several years those hobbies calmed her creative spirit, but soon they were not enough.

In the fall of 2006 she attended the St. James Art Festival it was one she will never forget for two reasons. One then boyfriend (soon to be husband) picked out the most beautiful engagement ring there. She also got bit by the clay bug again.

And as they say, the rest is history, or soon will be.
