Doh-Nuts

See the bottom of the page for finished projects using these nifty disks!

To make this Doh-Nut you need 2 things:
4 if you count clay and Pasta Machine

  1. Plastic Wrap
  2. 2 size cookie cutters
(I used round ones for this, but squares are pretty nifty as well)
I used the thickest setting on my pasta machine, but it really isn't necessary. I actually think that fatter Doh-Nuts look better (see below).

Pretty basic stuff folks- use both cutters.
One inside the other.
You can do it at the same time or not, makes no matter to me!

This is what it looks like if you use the thickest setting on the pasta machine and off set the center hole.

Be sure to remove the plastic wrap before you bake it!

This is the same size Doh-Nut but I doubled the thickness.

They are much more puffy and food like the thicker they get. The plastic wrap helps round the edges.

I really like how the wrap wrinkled and textured this metalic clay. I won't be able to re-create that if I tried.
This is just a picture showing you the difference in the bevel edge and the thickness of both cuts.
Remember, same two cutters, so these rings should be the same size...but the bulk of the first one makes it appear a little smaller.

(It isn't. I stacked them-Optical Illusions are nifty!)
